Toggle MRAM - MRAM Distributor

Toggle MRAM represents the first commercial generation of MRAM technology. It operates by using external magnetic fields to switch the magnetization direction of the free layer in a Magnetic Tunnel Junction (MTJ), thereby writing data. While offering the fundamental benefits of non-volatility and high endurance, Toggle MRAM faced significant challenges. Its reliance on external magnetic fields necessitated larger currents for writing, leading to higher power consumption and limiting its scalability to achieve high storage densities. The writing process was also slower compared to more advanced memory types, and the external magnetic fields could interfere with adjacent cells, causing write selectivity issues as device dimensions shrank. These limitations restricted its potential for higher density and lower power applications, paving the way for the development of the next generation of MRAM.
